Silver Standard Completes Transaction On Diablillos and M-18 Projects Logo Divider

 

VANCOUVER, BC - Silver Standard Resources Inc. has completed the transaction on its Diablillos and M-18 projects with Huayra Minerals Corporation for aggregate consideration including approximately $14 million payable over the first five years and a 19.9% equity interest in Huayra.  Huayra is a company focused on exploration and development of mineral properties in Argentina.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. is a Vancouver-based mining company focused on the operation, development, exploration and acquisition of precious metal projects. The company owns and operates the Marigold mine in Nevada, U.S., the Pirquitas mine in Argentina and the Seabee Gold Operation in Saskatchewan, Canada. The Marigold mine has been in continuous operation since 1988. It achieved record production of 207,006 ounces of gold in 2015 and is expected to produce between 200,000 and 210,000 ounces of gold in 2016. The Pirquitas mine in Argentina is one of the largest primary silver mines in the world. Pirquitas achieved commercial production in December 2009. In 2015, the mine produced a record 10.3 million ounces of silver and is expected to produce between 8.0 and 10.0 million ounces of silver in 2016. On May 31, 2016, Silver Standard acquired Claude Resources Inc. including the Seabee Gold Operation, which has been in continuous operation since 1991. The Seabee Gold Operation produced a record 75,748 ounces of gold in 2015 and is expected to produce between 65,000 and 72,000 ounces of gold in 2016. Silver Standard also has two wholly-owned feasibility stage projects, Pitarrilla in Mexico and San Luis in Peru.
